About The Position
Carrier is the leading global provider of healthy, safe, and sustainable building and cold chain solutions, with a diverse workforce and business segments covering HVAC portfolio. The Equipment Coordinator position is based in Chicago, IL, and is crucial for the operations of Carrier Rental Systems, which provides year-round solutions for temperature control, power generation, and special event needs by renting and selling HVAC equipment. This role involves assisting the Chicago depot with various responsibilities including equipment scheduling, maintenance, repair, and quality control, as well as managing shipping and receiving for the rental equipment fleet. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that equipment is properly maintained and ready for use, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the depot's operations. In this position, the Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling preventive maintenance with the Lead Technicians and Depot Manager, loading and unloading equipment in the yard, and inspecting equipment before it leaves the yard to ensure it meets quality standards. The role also includes verifying the accuracy of bills of lading, inspecting returned equipment for damage, and maintaining spare parts and equipment inventories. The Equipment Coordinator will also be tasked with maintaining trailer inspections and registrations, managing an active task list for equipment repairs, and adhering to the environmental health and safety (EH&S) plan for the facility. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that all equipment is in optimal condition and that safety protocols are followed diligently.
