About The Position

Our one-year rotating internship will provide you with essential knowledge and skills to be a competent equine veterinarian or a strong applicant to pursue a residency. Our unique hybrid practice offers you the best of both worlds. We focus on preventative medicine, sports medicine, surgery, reproduction & imaging. Come join our team! We are a six doctor, 3 surgeon practice with a large caseload (average 100+/week).

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in or a recent graduate of a veterinary program.
• Strong interest in equine medicine and surgery.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a large caseload.
• Willingness to learn and participate in mentorship programs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in veterinary internships or externships.
• Familiarity with equine surgical procedures.
• Interest in pursuing a residency in veterinary medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgeries including orthopedic, soft tissue, laparoscopic, and laser procedures.
• Perform emergency procedures as needed.
• Conduct digital radiology, gastroscopy, endoscopy, dynamic endoscopy, and ultrasonography.
• Engage in sports medicine and lameness evaluations.
• Utilize extracorpeal shockwave therapy and cold laser treatments.
• Administer IRAP, PRP, Renovo, Prostride, Alpha2, Noltrex, and stem cell therapies.
• Provide preventative medicine including dentistry, vaccinations, and nutrition advice.
• Participate in reproduction tasks such as AI, semen collection & processing, embryo transfer, and foaling.
• Work in a hybrid practice setting that includes wellness, referral, ER, and ambulatory services.
• Utilize in-house laboratory facilities.
