Miraval is hiring an Equine Assistant to help provide horse care and ranch facilities maintenance; and support as needed during programming. Typical daily duties include: feeding horses and caring for horses as requested, cleaning manure from pens, loading/unloading hay and feed; supporting facilitators with transportation of guests, changing horses as needed during programs, cleaning waters, and supporting the physical and emotional well-being of the horses, some grounds maintenance, and more. We work closely as a team to provide a unique and welcoming environment, and to support our equine and human colleagues, as well as our guests. This position requires personal attributes such as: mindfulness, awareness of the energy you bring to all interactions with the horses and how this affects them; a willingness to be self-reflective with a spirit of continual personal and professional growth; positive attitude, strong work ethic; flexibility with regard to daily routines and schedule, weekend and holiday availability. The ranch staff intentionally creates an atmosphere of collaboration and cooperation and strives to meet the highest standards of professionalism and teamwork. This is a fast-paced environment; it requires great communication skills, flexibility and adaptability, and the desire to embrace opportunities/challenges with grounded presence. We will provide some training. You must have horse knowledge experience, and be safe and comfortable working with horses living out in a herd.
