Responsibilities include but are not limited to: · Maintain an organized and fully stocked ambulatory vehicle ensuring all necessary supplies, tools, equipment and drugs are readily available to treat and diagnose a wide variety of equine illnesses and injuries. · Ability to drive the ambulatory vehicle to various locations within a wide geographical area. · Prepare and administer medications and provide appropriate wound care. · Assist with physical examinations; take vital signs and record observations. · Set up a variety of radiographic, diagnostic and medical equipment for the ambulatory veterinarian’s use. · Collect, prepare and label various specimens (including blood, urine, feces) for laboratory testing. · Ability to properly clean and sanitize injection sites. · Update clinic management software data to maintain up to date client history, treatment records, reports, appointments and invoice charges; accurately prepare and generate client invoices. This is a full-time season position from Jan - June. The schedule and number of hours worked each week varies based on season needs and the daily case load of the ambulatory veterinarian.
