About The Position
Looking for a part-time job? Come work for the Show Place Arena/Prince George's Equestrian Center in Upper Marlboro, MD! The Show Place Arena/Prince George's Equestrian Center is a multipurpose facility owned and operated by The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission and under the Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George's County. Our facility operations team is responsible for maintaining the building, grounds, and equipment, to ensure they function efficiently in order to provide a productive and safe environment. Salary range of $16.00/hour - $18.00/hour depending on position and experience. Opportunities include: EQUESTRIAN OPERATIONS STAFF Grounds Maintenance Assistant Cleans horse stalls and removes trash on grounds and parking lots. Assists with snow removal and general maintenance of buildings and grounds. Grounds maintenance includes mowing, weeding, trimming, etc. Ability to lift 25 lbs. May be asked to assist with Arena event set up and tear down. Will require working weekends and evenings. Grounds Maintenance Specialist Performs all the duties of the Grounds Maintenance Assistant in addition to operating equipment such as bobcat, tractor w/ attachments, and backhoe, and dump truck. Assist with ring drags to a client's specifications. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Horse Show Grounds Technician Performs all duties of the Grounds Maintenance Specialist in addition to having a Class B - Commercial Driver's License. Assumes leadership responsibilities and oversee staff in the absence of the supervisor
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must have the ability to effectively interact with the client and the public and provide courteous service.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Class B - Commercial Driver's License
