About The Position

The position involves all aspects of equine care, including feeding, watering, and managing the health of horses under the guidance of a veterinarian. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, as it may involve working weekends and evenings, especially during show season. The employee will also assist with equestrian center shows and events, supervise student workers, and maintain cleanliness in barns and offices. The job demands physical stamina, as it requires lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree
• Previous experience working in a professional equestrian setting
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities

• All aspects of equine care
• Feeding, haying, watering horses
• Bringing horses in and out
• Dressing and undressing horses in blankets and/or fly gear
• Submitting feed orders to the Director of Operations
• Keeping feed pans and water buckets clean
• Medical care of the horses under the guidance of the resident veterinarian
• Assisting with veterinary and farrier appointments
• Laundry
• Keeping barns and offices neat and clean
• Pasture and paddock management
• Supervising student workers
• Assisting with night check as necessary
• Assisting with Equestrian Center shows and events
• Other related duties as assigned
