About The Position

This position is responsible for implementing and managing the agency's Equal Opportunity programs. These programs are mandated under federal and state laws and this position provides guidance and training on program requirements to ensure compliance. This position also oversees the investigative process and conducts fact-finding regarding complaints of discrimination for the agency. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. The State of Arizona strives for a work culture that affords employees flexibility, autonomy, and trust. Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Oversight and monitoring of the agency's compliance with 23 CFR Part 230 Subpart C, Appendix A, Part II and compliance with federal and state nondiscrimination regulations, rules, and policies. Review and/or write fact-finding investigation reports and provide technical assistance to internal stakeholders regarding equal opportunity.
  • Conducts assessments for employee complaints, prepare reports, documents and resolve employee & management concerns.Maintains statistics, logs and general record keeping.
  • Developing and conducting virtual and in-person training of internal Equal Opportunity programs. Attend and represent the Equal Opportunity program at leadership meetings, presentations, and training events.
  • Oversee the processes involving internal employee discrimination complaints under Title VII to ensure compliance with federal and state rules, regulations, and laws. Completes the EEO-4 report and works with management to complete equal opportunity complaints initiated in the agency.
  • Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)
