About The Position

Operates manufacturing equipment and participates in the machining of components to produce high quality finished goods that meet or exceed our customer’s specification. They load and unload machines, inspect the parts and conduct some manual measurements.

Requirements

Communication Skills – ability to read or listen & comprehend and write & present information in English.
Mathematical Skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability – ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to use go/no go gages and thread gages proficiently.
Ability to work overtime is an essential function of the position.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Responsibilities

Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Flexible to work in any area of the operation.
Willing and able to work any shift.
Must be able to comprehend English and follow direction from JTEKT team leader, supervisor and/or manager.
Must perform all instructions as listed in the Job Element.
Follow standard work as described in the Job Elements for each operation and produce quality parts.
Must produce standard quantities upon completion of training.
Inspect all safety equipment prior to production start-up (E-Stops, safety lights, PPE).
Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Perform minor preventative machine maintenance such as oiling machines and do all necessary cleaning on equipment and work area.
Follow the non-conforming material procedure when it is found and notify the team leader.
Project a positive outlook in conversation and conduct.
Able to work in a fast paced team environment without direct supervision.
Responsible for 5S in the area.
May perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
