About The Position

Penn State's Department of Education Policy Studies seeks applications for a Post-doctoral Teaching Scholar who will teach undergraduate, masters-level and doctoral-level courses in education policy and leadership. The successful candidate will also contribute to the research and scholarly environment in the department and participate in all facets of the department. This post-doctoral position has a particular focus on (1) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses (residential and/or World Campus) (2) collaborating with faculty to submit research grants and (3) writing for publication in areas relevant to the department’s disciplinary and scholarly foci. The successful candidate should possess a PhD in Education Policy Studies and Leadership. The candidate must have demonstrated ability as a researcher; and must have shown evidence of professional growth and scholarship within their discipline. Candidates should have a strong background in educational equity, gender, women, and sexuality studies, African American Studies, or related areas. Candidates also should have experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, including advising doctoral students, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire. The possibility of renewal beyond that period will depend upon the availability of funds.
