About The Position

The ePMO Manager of Project Exectution has responsibility for the overall management and execution of enterprise-wide, portfolio lead, stragitic projects and initiatives. They will work directly with the Project Manager and Business Analyst Team Leads to ensure project management industry best practices, methodologies, and frameworks are followed to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget per designed specifications. They will work closely with the ePMO Strategy & Operations Manager to assist credit union assigned resources in meeting all requirements for submitting a strategic project for initial approval and ongoing oversight by the stakeholders to ensure company goals and priorities are accomplished. Develop and submit all deliverables, budgets, and reports as required by the project management framework. They will assist the Team Leads to ensure the Project Mangers and Business Analysts have established processes in place to help ensure effective project communication and ensure that project status updates are communicated to all stakeholders and senior management. Proven track record of these traits from a previous AFCU position: demonstrated leadership, ability drive results successfully, solve problems, and possess interpersonal skills. Ensures AFCU onboarding for new Project Managers and Business Analysts, including new equipment and access to systems as needed. Conducts one-on-one’s and employee evaluations for direct reports. Manages raises and determines resource needs within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or an Information Systems & Technology-related discipline.
  • PMP and/or PMI-ACP Certification, Certified Scrum Master.
  • Understanding of Credit Union operations and project needs.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Project Management discipline.
  • Knowledge of business software applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of Information Technology.
  • 12 years experience in field or related area.
  • Prior experience managing technical projects is required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, help to mentor and train as needed, and in some cases delegate tasks.
  • Proven track record of these traits from previous AFCU position: demonstrated leadership, drive results, solve problems, and possess interpersonal skills
  • Experienced with traditional and agile-based frameworks.
  • Experienced with Software Delivery Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experienced with MS Office, MS Project, Atlassian Jira, and Confluence, ServiceNOW, Smartsheet.
  • Experienced facilitator and communicator with matrixed teams, non-technical audiences, and vertical organization.
  • Experienced in partnering and collaborating with vendors, ensuring contracted deliverables are provided on-time and within design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-organized.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in written form, with excellent time management skills.
  • Works collaboratively with product owners, architexts, engineers, developers, SMEs, and analysts.
  • Skilled at conflict resolution.
  • Develop project vision, provide clear objectives, and effectively plan to meet those objectives.
  • Develop and provide project status reports.
  • Develop project execution templates (i.e., repeatable models, kick-offs, due-diligence checklists, stakeholder schedules, etc.).
  • Develop Governance and Communications Models.
  • Collaborate with all required AFCU departments, both IT and non-IT, to identify, coordinate, and prioritize resources and work.
  • Facilitate and document requirements gathering and manages project scope.
  • Monitor overall performance, ensure team or individual work products are completed, sprints are progressing effectively, and project cadence is continually energized.
  • Manage, analyze, resolve, mitigate, and document unexpected changes, issues, and risks – eliminate blockers.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to assist others.
  • Able to use PC and terminal keyboards, various computer hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Project Execution and Delivery Oversight
  • Directs the execution of enterprise-level strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and business outcomes.
  • Oversees project lifecycle management—from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
  • Ensures all projects adhere to defined scope, schedule, cost, and quality parameters.
  • Establishes and enforces portfolio-wide delivery standards that optimize consistency and predictability.

  • Defines, implements, and continuously improves project management governance and control frameworks.
  • Ensures consistent adoption of PMI/PMBOK, Agile, and hybrid delivery practices across all project teams.
  • Partners with senior leadership to evolve governance policies that balance structure with agility.
  • Monitors compliance with documentation standards, reporting cadence, and change control procedures.
  • Evaluates and optimizes tools, templates, and workflows to streamline project operations.
  • Portfolio Management and Strategic Alignment
  • Collaborates with the ePMO Strategy & Operations Manager to oversee project intake, evaluation, and prioritization.
  • Aligns project portfolio composition with strategic objectives and enterprise value targets.
  • Provides executive insights on resource utilization, dependency management, and project sequencing.
  • Ensures benefits realization planning and tracking are integrated into all portfolio activities.
  • Advises executive leadership on portfolio health, risk exposure, and capital allocation trade-offs.
  • Leadership and Talent Development
  • Leads and develops a high-performing team of Project Managers and Business Analysts.
  • Defines clear performance goals, growth pathways, and succession strategies for team members.
  • Conducts regular coaching sessions, performance reviews, and professional development planning.
  • Promotes collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the project delivery community.
  • Fosters a culture of psychological safety and high engagement to drive sustained excellence.
  • Stakeholder Partnership and Communication
  • Serves as a strategic liaison between executive leadership, business sponsors, and delivery teams.

  • Maintains strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to anticipate needs and manage expectations.
