The Claim Director, under minimal direction from the manager, investigates and settles claims promptly, equitably and within established best practices guidelines. This role is responsible for investigating and settling high exposure, high risk Employment Practices Claims, including class actions, ensuring a high level of customer service and claim file quality. The Claim Director will identify and evaluate coverage issues, prepare comprehensive coverage letters and analysis, retain and manage coverage counsel through trial, and develop and manage strategy for complex coverage litigation. Additionally, the position involves evaluating exposure through an in-depth analysis of legal and factual issues, retaining and managing litigation counsel through trial, and developing and managing strategy for complex litigation. The Claim Director will attend arbitrations, mediations, and trials, develop resolution strategies, negotiate settlements, review legal budgets, and present litigation strategy for complex litigation to senior claims management and underwriting staff. Support for business leaders on various claim and underwriting related issues and marketing meetings is also expected.
