About The Position
International SOS is seeking a skilled and dedicated Epidemiologist to join our team in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in public health, data collection, and statistical analysis, contributing to impactful public health research and initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in public health through rigorous research and data-driven strategies. As an Epidemiologist, you will conduct comprehensive epidemiological studies to analyze patterns, causes, and effects of diseases within populations. You will collect, analyze, and interpret health-related data using advanced statistical software and methodologies, ensuring that your findings are both accurate and actionable. In this role, you will utilize data management tools such as SQL and Tableau to organize, store, and analyze data for research purposes. Collaboration is key, as you will work alongside healthcare professionals, researchers, and public health officials on projects aimed at improving public health outcomes. You will also develop and implement evidence-based strategies for disease prevention, control, and health promotion, employing Geographic Information System (GIS) software to perform spatial analysis and map disease distribution in epidemiological studies. Your responsibilities will also include preparing detailed reports, publications, and presentations to communicate research findings to stakeholders, policymakers, and the public. Staying current with industry best practices and emerging trends in epidemiology and public health intervention will be essential to your success in this role.
