About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology, nursing, public health, business administration, or a closely related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience in communicable disease control or epidemiologic studies.
• Possession of a valid California driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the work of staff performing public health data extraction and analysis.
• Plan, conduct, and evaluate epidemiologic studies to determine disease patterns in the community.
• Conduct field investigations of disease outbreaks and environmental hazards.
• Monitor disease trends through surveillance activities in assigned areas.
• Provide lead direction, training, and work review to assigned staff.
• Identify opportunities for improving service delivery and implement process changes.
• Participate in the development of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for public health services.
• Assist in annual budget preparation and monitor expenditures.
• Prepare and present reports and written materials to management and public health agencies.
• Develop educational materials for community outreach related to communicable diseases.
