About The Position

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Life, Physical, Health Science, or related field.
  • Six months experience in using epidemiological methods to identify, study, and control public health problems.
  • Six months experience in designing, conducting, and analyzing epidemiologic studies.
  • Six months experience in designing and using surveillance systems to monitor public health problems.
  • Six months experience in inferential statistics such as correlation, t-tests, f-tests, or analysis of variance.
  • Six months experience in preparing statistical summaries and scientific reports.
  • Six months experience in providing epidemiologic direction and guidance to agencies or organizations.
  • Six months experience in managing budgets, grants, or contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct epidemiologic investigations, descriptive studies, or analytic studies.
  • Identify public health problems pertinent to the population and determine feasibility and approach for the study.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data using statistical techniques to identify outbreaks and determine changes in trends.
  • Maintain surveillance systems used to monitor disease trends.
  • Make recommendations for changes to operations, programs, services, policies, or procedures based on findings.
  • Participate on internal and external committees and workgroups related to areas of expertise.
