About The Position

The EHR supports our ability to deliver high-quality, equitable, accessible care. ChristianaCare is excited to transition from Cerner to Epic as the EHR across our sites of care! This role is a HYBRID position requiring frequent on-site work. Must be within a commutable distance. Primary Function: The primary function of the Willow Inpatient Pharmacist is to support the design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and optimization of the Epic Willow Inpatient Pharmacy module. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy workflows to enhance medication management, patient safety, and operational efficiency. The Pharmacist will work on workflow analysis, customizing the module to meet clinical and operational requirements, and providing training and support to end-users. The Pharmacist will also be responsible for troubleshooting issues, creating detailed documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy required.
- 2-3 years of experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platform required.
- Licensed pharmacist in the state of Delaware required

- Epic Willow Inpatient Certification preferred; if not certified, must become Epic certified within 3 weeks of completing the mandatory Epic training sessions
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and configuration of the Epic Willow Inpatient Pharmacy module, ensuring it meets the specific needs of clinical departments.
- Conduct detailed workflow analysis to understand current processes and identify areas for improvement using the Epic system.
- Customize the Epic Willow Inpatient Pharmacy module to align with the clinical and operational requirements.
- Ensure the effective implementation and optimization of Interfaces and OurPractice Advisories to enhance real-time clinical documentation, patient monitoring, and workflow efficiency for healthcare providers.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate the functionality and performance of the Epic Willow Inpatient Pharmacy module.
- Provide training and support to end-users, including pharmacists, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure effective use of the Epic system.
- Identify and resolve issues related to the Epic Willow Inpatient Pharmacy module, working closely with IT and clinical teams to troubleshoot and implement solutions.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, workflows, and training materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, clinical staff, and project managers, to ensure successful project delivery.
- Utilize best practices and methodologies for Epic implementations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Review and validate medication orders and treatment protocols within the Epic Willow Inpatient Pharmacy module to ensure accuracy and compliance with clinical guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and medication use to identify trends and areas for improvement in inpatient care.
- Provide clinical expertise in the development and implementation of pharmacy-related policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy department to ensure seamless integration of medication management within the Epic system.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans and provide pharmacological insights.
- Stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice and technologies to ensure the Epic Willow Inpatient Pharmacy module reflects the latest standards of care.
