About The Position

The Epic Willow Application Analyst position at Penn Medicine is responsible for enhancing, supporting, and maintaining Pharmacy applications within the UPHS health system. This role involves providing technical instruction, managing application projects, coordinating new functionality development, and ensuring system integrity and compliance with change management procedures. The analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to improve end-user productivity and ensure patient safety through effective application build and configuration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (Required), preferably in Pharmacy (Bachelor's or PharmD)
  • 3+ years of Information Technology experience relative to a Pharmacy application (Required) for Senior level; 2+ years for Mid-level
  • Valid/Current Pharmacist License in State of primary work location (Preferred)
  • Epic Willow experience (Preferred)
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to follow issues through to resolution.
  • Ability to effectively implement and manage projects and personnel.
  • Knowledge of basic hardware configurations, database management tools and query language.
  • Practical Clinical experience in a Pharmacy (either Inpatient or Ambulatory) setting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, research and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
  • Detail oriented, strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical applications experience in either an application support or implementation role preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations and data structures and the use of information system applications in the practicing healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers customer service to IS and Pharmacy clients seamlessly across system boundaries, while ensuring safety, confidentiality & security of employee and patient data.
  • Leads the education and delivery to internal team members in the utilization of functionality within the application.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional team members to determine and define specific analytical and technical systems information requirements, objectives and solution sets for the enhancements and configuration of the application.
  • Promptly identifies, documents and resolves problems with system functionality.
  • Coordinates and adheres to strict project schedules and handles multiple assignments.
  • Communicates problems, issues and potential solutions to team members, clients, organizational administration and immediate supervisor.
  • Researches and analyzes new functionality within the application to enhance practice, productivity, and operational processes for end users.
  • Applies clinical knowledge and experiences as appropriate to evaluate, examine and modify build to help ensure patient safety through the application build.
  • Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.
