The Epic Security Applications/Systems Analyst at UMass Memorial Health is responsible for analyzing and designing clinical and business information systems to meet client needs. This role involves reviewing business operations, defining processes, performing cost/benefit analyses, and developing specifications for necessary information systems. The analyst will also assist in system conversions, recommend software delivery methods, and provide ongoing support to clients.

  • Review assigned portions of business or clinical operations and identify clients' information system needs.
  • Define processes, problems, and requirements.
  • Perform cost/benefit analyses.
  • Design and analyze clinical and business information systems to meet client needs.
  • Develop detailed specifications defining functional and reporting requirements of necessary information systems.
  • Assist in studies of the impact of major systems conversions.
  • Apprise clients of practical implications of information systems changes and available alternatives.
  • Recommend appropriate means for the delivery of necessary applications software.
  • Develop and/or modify custom applications software.
  • Write programs/code using various programming languages to meet defined specifications.
  • Design screen layouts and participate in the design specification, analysis, development, and testing of reports.
  • Install standard applications software products in clients' personal computers and host networked computers.
  • Test installed programs to ensure proper performance at clients' sites.
  • Perform systems tests, debug software, and ensure test requirements are met.
  • Assist in writing user instructions and portions of user manuals.
  • Provide ongoing and follow-up support to clients for assigned projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Current certification(s) or ability to achieve as required by department.
  • Ability to work off hours and participate in on-call rotation.
