The EPIC Programmer/Analyst Sr - Clinical Documentation Team provides advanced-level programming and systems analysis support for a broad array of strategic/tactical projects as assigned. This role participates in all areas of the project life cycle, including project definition, project estimating, systems design, computer programming, systems implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and documentation. Particular emphasis is placed on the implementation of integrated hospital/corporate computer systems. The position functionally provides technical guidance to entry- and intermediate-level programming staff and acts as leader and coordinator of team assignments and goals. There is no administrative supervisory responsibility, allowing for interaction within general guidelines in a broad scope of responsibility to recommend, design, develop, and implement information systems that meet departmental objectives within the functional area of responsibility. The role requires drawing upon practical experience and demonstrating the development of extensive operational technical knowledge as well as advanced knowledge in developing business relationships and partnerships. The individual must demonstrate the ability to integrate advanced technical skills with knowledge of the business to provide effective information systems solutions. They will handle all activities of developing an information system, from initial project review and scope definition to final systems implementation, with only minor supervision and direction. Additionally, the individual will respond to software malfunctions of assigned systems and provide support and assistance to operations and users to correct and avoid future recurrence of production application problems.
