About The Position

The Epic Principal Trainer is responsible for developing, delivering, and optimizing training programs for specific applications within the healthcare environment. This role involves collaborating with subject matter experts and application analysts to create comprehensive educational materials, maintain training environments, and ensure that end users are proficient in utilizing electronic health record systems. The trainer will also manage super user groups and provide ongoing support and training to classroom trainers and end users.

Requirements

• Associates degree required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum of two years' experience in curriculum development and training materials.
• Knowledge of instructional systems design and technical application training.
• Knowledge of system and change management principles in healthcare.
• Skill in creating documents using Microsoft Office and web-based technologies.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to problem solve and engage in critical thinking.

Nice To Haves

• Formal or experience-based knowledge of education and information technology analysis, design, implementation, and support.
• Training in adult learning theory and methodology.

Responsibilities

• Works with subject matter experts and leadership to develop and optimize training for specific applications.
• Creates and maintains all training materials and builds the training environment.
• Manages super user groups and trains additional classroom trainers.
• Designs and provides comprehensive educational material for end users.
• Masters both the application and specific clinical and business workflows.
• Delivers ongoing training post-live and ensures the training environment is current with production.
• Utilizes various learning media to achieve educational objectives.
• Creates end user quick guides and tip sheets as needed.
• Conducts end user proficiency assessments to ensure competence in the system.
• Maintains professional growth through seminars and workshops.
