About The Position

The Epic Interface Analyst position at ChristianaCare involves managing the implementation cycle of interfaces and APIs within the Epic electronic health record system. This hybrid role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure effective interface management, troubleshooting, and support, ultimately contributing to high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platforms, preferably in interface analysis or a related field.
  • High School diploma with 5 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Epic Bridges Certification preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Epic certification preferred; if not certified, must become Epic certified within 3 weeks of completing mandatory Epic training sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the entire implementation cycle of interfaces, web services, and industry-standard APIs, including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live, and support.
  • Work closely with application teams, subject matter experts, and third-party application experts to determine business needs, document requirements, and configure interfaces accordingly.
  • Diagnose and resolve interface-related issues in collaboration with technical teams and third-party system representatives.
  • Review, triage, and resolve day-to-day interface errors, coordinating with necessary teams as required.
  • Identify and advance risks associated with technical project tasks and third-party systems.
  • Coordinate interface-specific tasks and activities like testing, build, cutover planning, and go-live by engaging relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop data-translation strategies with interface engine developers to support Epic and third-party systems.
  • Monitor live interfaces and provide proactive support by collaborating with experts to resolve issues.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for technical issues and general inquiries related to assigned applications.
  • Collaborate with Epic to implement new projects and manage upgrades of assigned applications by setting timelines and maintaining communication.
  • Analyze and communicate the impact of issues, triaging requests and determining priority.
  • Build relationships with end users and provide consistent support through day-to-day communication.
