Position Summary: In this role, the successful candidate for the Clinical Application Analyst will be responsible for regular day-to-day communication, troubleshooting, software design, build and testing for the Epic OpTime and Anesthesia modules. Primary role is researching and seeking solutions to problems and contributes to improving workflow and processes. They will work in conjunction with other analysts to support the Epic system and end users to make sure the technology is optimized to provide best enhanced work processes and overall patient care.

Requirements

  • Relevant health care IT or clinical experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and identify root causes in complex workflows.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation and communication skills required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Strong skills in PC desktop applications such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules to meet job requirements; requires occasional after-hours support.
  • Required: Bachelor's or Associate Degree or have acquired 1 to 3 years of equivalent experience.
  • This position is hybrid and will require on-site visits.
  • Must be willing to be on-site as needed.
  • LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching/training and project management is a plus.
  • Experience working with Epic Systems applications (e.g., OpTime, Anesthesia, Cupid) is preferred; role-specific training and certification support will be provided. (Epic certification/accreditation is required within 6 months from employment.)
  • Familiarity with change management processes, including system upgrades, enhancements, and release cycles, is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate clinical workflows into system configuration and optimization opportunities is highly valued.
  • Familiar with scheduling workflows, resource management and workflows for perioperative documentation and case requests.
  • Familiar with preference cards and their maintenance and case cart and materials management workflows.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's/Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Information, Business Administration, Nursing or other clinical discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, design, build, testing and implementing of information systems that support and enhance clinical practices.
  • Able to independently evaluate systems, analyze complex issues and problems, test data and assist customers in reaching resolution(s).
  • Strong working knowledge of clinical systems and administrative departments, operations, and core process workflows.
  • The ability to elicit customer requirements and design technical solutions that meet the customer’s needs.
  • Participates and leads testing of module updates, enhancements, custom programming and new releases.
  • Provides ongoing maintenance and support for assigned applications with little to no assistance.
  • Provides training for physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff on new computer systems, application upgrades, and new functionality.
  • Able to utilize current issue tracking software to document contact with customers and resolutions to issues.
  • Will routinely manage IS related & non-IS related projects with limited management oversight.
  • Must work effectively with team members, have strong communication skills and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
