About The Position

The Epic Application Analyst Senior Lumens position at Advocate Health involves developing technical and non-technical solutions to moderate to complex business needs. The role requires gathering and reviewing information, evaluating existing systems, and coordinating the development and implementation of new functionalities. The analyst will work closely with users and IT staff, performing analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance functions. The position also involves serving as a liaison between the business community and IT, providing technical solutions to meet user needs, and preparing project plans and budgets. The analyst will assist with testing and implementing system software installations and upgrades, perform data backups, and support application software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in an IT or clinical environment.
  • Proficient in using EPIC and other applications, operating systems, and databases.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and balance multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle customer contacts.

Responsibilities

  • Develops technical and/or non-technical solutions to moderate to complex business needs.
  • Gathers, compiles, and reviews information and data.
  • Examines and evaluates existing systems and procedures.
  • Identifies alternate courses of action and develops tools/improvements using existing software packages.
  • Coordinates the development and implementation of new functionality and applications.
  • Performs analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance functions.
  • Communicates effectively with users regarding project requirements.
  • Serves as a liaison between the business community and IT.
  • Prepares project plans, including definition, scope, resources, and schedules.
  • Coordinates all aspects of assigned system development, implementation, operation, and maintenance.
  • Assists with testing and implementing system and application software installations and upgrades.
  • Participates in change management/control.
  • Assists with workstation and server administration.
  • Codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains routine application support software.
