About the position

The Epic Application Analyst III position is focused on transforming healthcare through the implementation and support of Epic application systems. The role involves performing system analysis and design, including requirements gathering, specifications, configuration, documentation, testing, and implementation of systems. The analyst will provide support for Epic applications, troubleshoot issues, train users, and report on activities. The position may also involve supporting non-Epic applications and acting as a liaison between various groups, clients, and vendors. The analyst will conduct advanced analysis of Epic application design, manage projects, and mentor teammates while adhering to departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced analysis of Epic application design including planning implementations and maximizing application benefits.
  • Mentor teammates in resolution of issues, tracking issues, and providing updates to peers, leadership, and clients.
  • Manage assigned projects and meet deadlines.
  • Conduct highly complex work unsupervised with extensive latitude for independent judgement.
  • Plan and conduct requirements gathering for Epic projects and requests.
  • Coordinate, plan, and conduct detailed design sessions through knowledge of client/business needs and application functionality.
  • Develop reference materials for supported applications and related technologies.
  • Serve as a liaison between Epic modules.
  • Act as a professional and technical mentor to teammates.
  • Facilitate a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Adhere to the application change management process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's/Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare, business or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of eight years of related experience.
  • Valid Virginia drivers' license required.
  • Certification/Proficiency in applicable Epic module.
  • Additional Certifications/Proficiencies in module associated with primary Epic module required.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team setting.
  • Effective communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
