About the position

This position is part of Advocate Aurora Health Corporate's Revenue Cycle Applications team. It is a full-time role with a day shift schedule and on-call responsibilities that will begin within three months of the hire date. The role involves working closely with users and leadership to develop and modify procedures related to Epic clinical and business application use, ensuring effective communication and support for users in utilizing the applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and modify procedures due to workflow process changes related to Epic applications.
  • Explain the functioning of assigned Epic applications and related systems to users.
  • Assist users in utilizing the full functionality of the applications.
  • Prepare input for requirements definition including user procedures, flowcharts, and preliminary report and screen definitions.
  • Assist in the development of effective unit, integration, system, and end-user acceptance testing.
  • Work with users to set priorities for user requests and clarify those requests.
  • Document current workflows, specifications, user manuals, and procedures.
  • Complete all change and quality control documentation using department standards.
  • Participate in testing, user training, and results evaluation.
  • Track standardized projects and keep users and management informed on progress.
  • Monitor and document post-implementation problems and revision requests.
  • Identify ongoing application system issues and communicate patterns to Sr./Lead Application Product Analyst.
  • Maintain product documentation including requirements, functional specifications, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Assist in communicating project status and upgrades to clinic users.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of clinical/laboratory and/or business operations for supported Epic applications.
  • Assist with scheduling and managing application version upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Computer Science or related field.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in automated laboratory and/or business systems.
  • Basic knowledge of computer operating platforms, applications software, and network software.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for making sound recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Ability to translate user requirements into system specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) or similar products.
  • Ability to prepare, import, and manipulate information in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of project management software, tools, and methodologies.
  • Ability to follow change management processes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and set appropriate priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • EPIC certification(s) obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience with large-scale automated systems.
