About the position

The Epic Analyst Medical Technologist for the Beaker team designs, analyzes, develops, tests, implements, and/or provides tier two technical assistance of assigned system applications. Consults with Epic representatives, application coordinators, supervisors, and end users to configure and build Epic software and applications to meet organizational and client needs. Troubleshoots problems, offers solutions, and recommends a course of action to address the issues and needs of the end user and to achieve client and/or hospital specifications for Epic applications. Develops and modifies procedures to solve complex data processing problems and/or prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written. The Epic Beaker analyst is tasked with upgrade, support, and maintenance of the lab analyzer middleware and the blood bank application.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, develop, test, implement, and provide tier two technical assistance for assigned system applications.
  • Consult with Epic representatives, application coordinators, supervisors, and end users to configure and build Epic software and applications.
  • Troubleshoot problems and offer solutions to meet client and hospital specifications for Epic applications.
  • Develop and modify procedures to solve complex data processing problems.
  • Prepare detailed specifications for program writing.
  • Support and maintain lab analyzer middleware and blood bank application.

Requirements

  • MLS or MT experience with demonstrated proficiency in EPIC applications.
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS(ASCP)), or equivalent (AMT, NCA, military, or MT(ASCP)).
  • Will be required to acquire Epic Proficiency within three months of hire.
  • Will be offered the ability to gain Epic Certification in current application by attending classes in Verona, WI.
  • 5 years collective experience as a Medical Technologist for Senior level, including Epic Experience supporting laboratory applications and services.
  • Strong Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) competency for Senior level.
  • Required to hold at least two Epic Certifications/Accreditations/Proficiencies across applications for Senior level.

  • Familiarity with laboratory operations and workflows.
