About The Position

Indiana University Health is seeking an Epic Analyst III to join their Information Services Epic team. This role is pivotal in the development, support, and rollout of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. The Epic Analyst III is responsible for optimizing workflow processes by configuring and customizing Epic applications to meet the specific needs of the organization. The position involves collaborating with clinical and operational teams to support the implementation and ongoing use of Epic across the health system, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role also serves as a resource for less experienced colleagues and participates in all phases of the system development life cycle, from gathering requirements to evaluating software solutions. The analyst will understand foundational workflows, translate operational requests into action, and develop, configure, and modify moderately complex information systems. Key duties include creating and maintaining documentation, designing, coding/configuring, testing, and maintaining application programs. The role coordinates all testing phases of Epic applications during implementations, upgrades, and optimizations, and supports existing application functionality while expanding support to additional areas. The Epic Analyst III will develop strong working relationships with end users, business partners, and Epic project teams, utilize Epic best practices, and provide hands-on training and support. They will serve as a key onsite Epic resource during system implementations and ongoing support activities, lead and facilitate team activities, provide second-level support for incidents and requests, and serve as a project lead for Epic software releases and new application implementations. Participation in on-call support for system troubleshooting and issue resolution is also required, along with leading and monitoring application testing and validation during system upgrades or new module implementations. The analyst will provide input into policies, procedures, training materials, and best practices related to Epic usage and system optimization, and collaborate with facility core team members to deliver hands-on training as needed. Building and maintaining strong relationships with end users and facility leadership is also a crucial aspect of this role.
