About The Position

The Epic Ambulatory Analyst is responsible for the design, build, implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic Ambulatory application. This role collaborates closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to ensure the system meets organizational needs and supports efficient, high‑quality patient care. The Analyst serves as a subject matter expert, troubleshooter, and liaison between end users, IT, and Epic.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, IT, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3+ years of EHR experience, ideally in Epic.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to translate clinical and operational needs into technical solutions
  • Experience in the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
  • Time management and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to translate clinical needs into technical solutions.

  • Experience with Epic tools such as Hyperspace, Reporting Workbench, and SmartForms a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • Epic Ambulatory certification or proficiency (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
  • Experience supporting ambulatory clinics or outpatient workflows.
  • Familiarity with clinical operations, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, build, and maintain Epic Ambulatory workflows, visit types, smart tools, questionnaires, orders, navigators, and templates.
  • Analyze business and clinical requirements to develop system solutions aligned with best practices.
  • Participate in system upgrades, release management, and new feature implementation.
  • Investigate issues, identify root causes, and develop long‑term solutions.
  • Use Sherlock logs and Epic-provided tools to resolve issues and collaborate with Epic Technical Support when needed.
  • Work with clinicians, scheduling teams, and operational leaders to understand workflows and translate needs into system functionality.
  • Participate in application workgroups, governance committees, and project teams.
  • Communicate system changes, training needs, and upgrade impacts to stakeholders.
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance, ensuring optimal functionality and data integrity.
  • Perform analysis, design, build, testing, and implementation of the Epic Ambulatory module.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams to ensure system integration across Epic modules and other hospital systems.
  • Develop and execute testing strategies for new builds, patches, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including build specifications, workflow diagrams, and change logs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Ambulatory application in a timely and effective manner.
  • Create and maintain documentation for application workflows, build, testing, and training.
  • Support training teams by providing build knowledge, preparing training materials, or validating workflows.
  • Provide on‑site support during go-live, optimizations, and new clinic rollouts.
  • Provide end-user support and training when needed.
