We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Test Technician Senior to join our dynamic team in El Segundo, California. This position’s internal job code is Environmental Test Technician Sr. Our team is currently hiring for grade 24. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Shift: This position is primarily 2nd shift; however, there may be additional shift requirements to support program objectives. Candidates must be able to work any shift assigned. Union: This is an hourly union-represented position governed by the Cabinet Makers, Millmen and Industrial Carpenters Union (CMM&IC Local 721). New hires and employees transferring from non-union roles may be required to attend or complete training within their 90-day probationary period. Continued employment is contingent on successfully completing the probationary period. Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. (An Interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post Start is required.)

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
  • More than 1 year of experience with production or test environments
  • More than 1 year of experience operating any of the following specialized equipment (Electrodynamic shakers (vibration table), Thermal Vacuum Chambers and/or Thermal Cycling Cambers)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens and eligible for a security clearance.
  • Additionally, applicants must be willing to apply for and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • More than 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or factory support environment
  • More than 1 year of experience handling Electrostatic Sensitive Devices (ESD) hardware and its related processes

Responsibilities

  • Executes environmental test of space flight hardware using a variety of specialized equipment and tools, including: electrodynamic shakers, thermal vacuum chambers, thermal cycling chambers, torque wrenches, adhesives, etc.
  • Installs and operates test instrumentation and other specialized test equipment, including: accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.
  • Interprets engineering drawings, specifications, assembly procedures, test procedures, etc.
  • Works with engineering to define and refine standard operating procedures
  • Records, prepares, organizes, and delivers test data, run logs, and other relevant documentation for inclusion in final test reports
  • Maintains environmental test lab equipment, performs resource 5S activities, etc.
  • As required, oversees testing at outside test facilities
  • Supports initiatives to maintain safe operations, ensure product quality, reduce lead time/labor hours, etc. through environmental test
