About The Position

The environmental test operator will perform and assist with the daily activities of the Production Test Environmental department in the presence or the absence of the Environmental Team Leader. The operator will ensure that all environmental test activities are performed efficiently, accurately and in accordance with all department QCP’s and Company procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years College (Associates) Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Familiar with Test procedures such as to standards like MIL-STD-810, DO-160, or IEC 60068.
  • MIL-STD familiarity (for military and aerospace testing).
  • Ability to read, write, and orally communicate in English.
  • 2-year minimum work experience in Manual Production Test, or related technical experience.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, model block diagrams and general instructions.
  • Knowledge of basics electrical circuits and current division.
  • Basic computer skills to use department database and other related software.
  • Familiar with OSHA safety training, rules and regulations.
  • Ability to prepare Test report for Supervisor review.
  • Ability to move Test equipment occasionally for setup preparation or during calibration cycle.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized per our department 5S standards.

Responsibilities

  • Daily review of the Environmental Test Department workload using AS/400.
  • Review with the team leader to determine the test schedule and priorities for the day.
  • Verify Test Workstation is ESD safe before performing any work assignments.
  • Organize test setups, maintain test equipment, accessories, and tools.
  • Ensure that all environmental test equipment in use is calibrated and functional.
  • Review environmental documents for accuracy, report any discrepancies immediately for review.
  • Prepare test setups using the latest model revision documents instructions.
  • Immediately report anomalies or failures during setup preparation and during testing.
  • Prepare data sheet and document the production run information during and after stated test requirement.
  • Use and maintain environmental chambers such as temperature, humidity, thermal shock, vibration tables, EMI/EMC test setups.
  • Perform Hi-Pot test on production lot as specified by model 50-page.
  • Set up the Hi-Powered amplifier for RF/DC Burn-in operation.
  • Set up and perform Power Handling test requirements on specified model.
  • Upload the approved environmental test result to the Network using department database.
  • Assist and perform testing in the manual production test area as directed by the Team leader or Manager.
  • Accept and perform environmental test requirements on models issued by other departments Supervisor or authorized Team members.
