The In-Use Verification Program (IUVP) is a regulatory program collecting evidence that real-world customer vehicles are meeting as-certified emissions standards. The IUVP Test Engineer is responsible for the preparation and testing of customer vehicles. Tailpipe and EVAP emissions tests are performed on the vehicles, aligned with the standards the vehicle was certified to. This role works closely with emissions test facility personnel and regulatory compliance teams within Stellantis to resolve open questions or concerns. This is an onsite position at the Chrysler Technology Center in Auburn Hills, MI. Occasional off shift/weekend test support may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive testing (with an emphasis on emissions or fuel economy testing)
  • Demonstrated organizational/tracking skills. This position requires tracking multiple vehicles through a complex testing process.
  • Must have strong computer skills with a focus on data analysis (MS Excel and data processing/analysis tools)
  • Knowledge of North American emissions regulations, testing and certification processes/procedures
  • Ability to work onsite with non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit personnel in labs and garages
  • Strong interpersonal skills required for interacting with powertrain and vehicle development teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with in-use testing
  • Hybrid and/or Electric vehicle testing experience
  • Propulsion system calibration or aftertreatment system experience
  • Experience with vehicle diagnostics and Controller Area Network (CAN) data collection
