About The Position

The Environmental Technician supports environmental compliance and monitoring programs for Nevada mining operations. This role conducts field inspections, sampling, and data collection, and assists the Environmental team in implementing permit requirements and maintaining accurate environmental records. Working under the direction of Environmental Specialists or Managers, the Technician ensures monitoring activities are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with regulatory standards.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • 0–3 years of experience in environmental fieldwork, mining, construction, or industrial operations preferred.
  • Basic understanding of environmental compliance principles is an asset.
  • Experience with field sampling, data collection, or equipment operation is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine environmental inspections in active mining, processing, and reclamation areas.
  • Collect water, soil, air, and waste samples according to approved monitoring plans.
  • Perform field measurements and record environmental data with accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field monitoring equipment.
  • Assist with implementing environmental permit requirements from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection and relevant federal agencies.
  • Support monitoring programs related to water management, stormwater, reclamation, and waste handling.
  • Identify and report potential compliance concerns to Environmental Specialists or Supervisors.
  • Assist with preparation and logistics during regulatory inspections or agency site visits.
  • Enter monitoring data into logs, spreadsheets, and environmental databases with attention to detail.
  • Maintain accurate field notes and documentation that comply with internal and regulatory standards.
  • Support preparation of routine environmental compliance reports by compiling monitoring data.
  • Ensure proper storage and retention of environmental records.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance teams to access monitoring locations safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all site safety policies, environmental protocols, and MSHA requirements.
  • Participate in environmental incident response activities when directed.
