About The Position

We are Doe Run - a natural resource company sustainably managing the minerals in our care. Starting at $21.68/hr 5% targeted monthly bonus. Insurance benefits start day 1. The Doe Run Company is seeking an Environmental Technician to support site(s) to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations. Maintain required records for all environmental permits and plans. Position is located at Brushy Creek surface and underground. The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), Database Technology (Pi, MS SQP Server, Access), Invoicing/Accounts Payable (DataServ), I-Series (LIMS), ETMS, PeopleSoft, HR Information system (Ultimate/UKG).
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal).

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in environmental science, biological science, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a lab or outdoor setting preferred.
  • Basic skill in databases preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental sampling including but not limited to air, water, groundwater, and waste sampling.
  • Record and certify data.
  • Oversee handling and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Provide assistance in the environmental management system through internal auditing, training, and technical site support.
  • Act as site team liaison with site personnel to implement environmental compliance plans and protocols to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and obligations including CWA, RCRA, SPCC, CAA, NPDES, PDW, ISO 14001, Agreements, and AOCs.
  • Maintain required records for all environmental permits and plans.
  • Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health, and safety) policies, procedures, and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Other duties as assigned.
