About The Position

What You Should Know About the Environmental Technician Role: Hours are 7:00am - 3:00pmMay require an adjustment of schedule to accommodate departmental need.This position is based within Jefferson Regional Environmental Services Department In this unique setting, daily interactions with a diverse clientele, including hospital staff, physicians, and visitors, are expectedJob Summary:Environmental Tech is responsible for the basic disinfecting and cleaning of the facility. This position is also responsible for removal of a regular wasted and medical waste alone with boxes and the disposal of equipment and furniture.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to follow all rules and policies within the organization and department.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment
Effective communication skills
This position is a Safety Sensitive Position.
The essential duties of the job require the employee to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner.
A lapse in attention to detail may constitute a threat to health or safety resulting in injury, illness, or death.
This position prohibits the current use of any illegal drugs.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred
Previous experience in a healthcare facility or commercial cleaning role preferred.
Knowledge of hospital infection control procedures preferred.
