About The Position

Tessera is seeking an experienced and hardworking Environmental Technician- Lead. The Environmental Technician- Lead will work under the Environmental Manager to assist in examining all environmental documentation and operations for conformity to established Navy Environmental requirements. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Lead environmental technicians towards assisting, developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental control programs. Lead the environmental technicians in compliance of contract requirements to achieve environmental management and sustainability practices. Confirm the Navy customer receives an environmentally compliant product and service. Assure environmental technician inspections are performed on completed contract work and documented to ensure final product meets all environmental specifications. Manage proper environmental documentation for presentation to government for final acceptance. Audit and analyze maintenance documents, historical files, and inspection records to note any trends or recurring discrepancies for initiating environmental corrective action plans. Produce environmental deficiency reports that are clear, concise, and comprehensive. Inspect SOPs and ISO processes meet contractual environmental guidelines. Sustain continued monitoring and measurement of information that addresses the Environmental Management System (EMS) goals and policy. Provide EMS Goals and Achievements to Skookum and Environmental Manager. Make recommendations on how to achieve EMS goals. Assist in managing all environmental corrective and/or preventative actions, take corrective actions immediately to remedy non-compliances. Provide employees with training so they are aware of their roles and responsibilities under the Environmental Management System (EMS). Report how EMS issues affect work performed under the contract. Comply with all applicable Federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and executive orders, and with base-wide instructions, standards, and permit requirements. Manage and lead applicable environmental and occupational health and safety training. Assure it is kept up to date on regulatory required specific training for the type of work to be conducted onsite. Assist with data or reporting that supports the Environmental Protection Plan (EPP). The EPP shall address environmental compliance and compliance procedures as they pertain to the execution of the contract. Instruct and recommend how the maintenance programs are adhered to established rules including following environmental requirements and standards, equipment manufacture recommendations, environmental regulations, and commercially accepted practices. Assist the Environmental Manager with strategies and methods for conducting safe, effective, and environmentally sound pest management programs and Protected Species Disposition. Support the Environmental Manager with operational information and data as needed for the environmental permits and renewal processes. Provide current, accurate and complete operating records, station logs and reports to meet all environmental regulations and operation permit requirements in support of the Environmental Manager. Responsible for personnel training, qualifications, technical knowledge, experience and skills required for efficient operations within the environmental function of this contract. Environmental Technician Lead shall make recommendations for appropriate environmental actions to the Environmental Manager. Must also Communicate professionally and courteously with customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Environmental experience required.
  • Must be able to complete the Defense Hazardous Materials/Waste Handling Course (HAZWOPR) or similar.
  • Must possess required environmental certifications relevant to the job.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred.
  • OSHA series training preferred.
