About The Position

As the Environmental Technician II, you will work on-site in Spokane, WA and utilize your knowledge and experience to participate in water treatment system monitoring, operations, maintenance, and repairs; sample collection; soil and groundwater remediation; and other field and office-based activities as needed. Personal initiative and critical thinking skills are essential to complete job duties with minimal guidance. Assignments are deadline driven so you must be able to set priorities, take ownership of projects, work efficiently and provide a consistent level of high quality in a high-pressure environment.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of experience working on construction or environmental projects.
  • Ability to lift/move 50–75 lbs. regularly (equipment, salt bags, etc.)
  • Experience with Health and Safety functions.
  • Valid state driver’s license and qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Brice Engineering’s Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass drug, driving and background screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma, associate’s degree in engineering technology, environmental technology, mechanical systems, or construction-related field preferred.
  • Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response training with current 8-hour refresher preferred.
  • Experience installing and maintaining water treatment systems preferred.
  • General plumbing, electrical, and mechanical experience preferred.
  • General construction skills.
  • Proficiency in using water and soil sampling equipment and packaging and shipping samples under chain of custody protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Basic computer and tablet skills, specifically using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and confidentially process and maintain data with accuracy with directions and mentorship
  • Ability to build relationships and develop communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and develop positional knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and oversee construction, maintenance, and upgrades of residential water treatment systems as directed by project management staff.
  • Respond to outages, troubleshoot, and repair treatment systems as required to maintain operability.
  • Modify and repair treatment system housing structures as needed.
  • Complete accurate paperwork documenting field activities.
  • Collect and package samples for chemical analysis
  • Handle customer issues, complaints, and problems courteously and promptly while exhibiting an overall customer-focused style of service.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Work with environmental technicians and other technical staff in data collection, site inspection/investigation, and evaluation of data collected in support of environmental project objectives.
  • Organize and plan field sampling programs.
  • Determine data collection methods to be employed in site surveys and investigations.
  • Actively participate in creating a positive team environment
  • Work with technical staff in support of project objectives and field operations.
  • Follow company safety protocols, standards, and expectations
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
