Role description: Arcadis is seeking an experienced Air Emissions Source Testing Technician and Equipment Mechanic to support our longstanding and growing stack testing group in Hillsborough, NJ. As our equipment technician manager, you will maintain stack testing equipment and support our stack testing field teams in the performance of compliance and diagnostic emissions tests (stack testing) and continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) audits at a wide variety of industrial and municipal facilities. The primary responsibilities of this position are to manage our equipment and field supply inventories to ensure that field staff are well prepared for mobilizations. Supplemental responsibilities will include field mobilizations to perform stack testing work and support field efforts. This role will sit within the larger Global Resilience Business Area. Role accountabilities: The Air Emissions Source Testing Technician and Equipment Mechanic will be required to work in industrial buildings, on rooftops, and on smokestack platforms on a wide variety of emissions sources. The selected individual should have enhanced mechanical capabilities working with electronics, pumps, gas and air flow metering systems, glassware and other stack testing equipment. The Air Emissions Source Testing Technician and Equipment Mechanic will also work with our teams testing sources of all types using U.S. EPA test methods. The successful candidate will help build our business and will foster business relationships with both clients and regulatory officials. Candidate must be comfortable with performing elevated work (rooftops, climbing ladders, stack platforms and manlifts). Shopwork - Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on stack testing equipment. Install, wire and plumb our mobile laboratory trailers with CEMS instrumentation and ensure instruments respond correctly to calibration gases. Maintain equipment, materials and reagent inventories to supply our field efforts. Ensure calibration cylinder gases are within calibration expirations and adequately stocked for field operations. Order supplies as needed to support field, laboratory and office operations. Fieldwork - This candidate will also support our field efforts by providing a helping hand in the field to set up test equipment by hoisting pumps, metering systems and sample lines to sample ports on test platforms, rooftops and smokestacks. Use of manlifts, climbing of ladders and working at heights is an integral part of this field support. Fieldwork often requires overnight travel with week-long deployments to various sites across the country. Office and Lab Work - In addition to the shop and field responsibilities, this individual will be expected to play a major role in the operations of our Hillsborough, NJ office. These responsibilities may include ensuring Arcadis laboratory and warehouse mechanical systems are operating correctly, conducting regular checks on our laboratory air capture (hoods) systems and maintaining reagent supplies and other lab materials.
