Job Summary and Responsibilities As an Environmental Services Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment for our patients and staff. Your daily responsibilities will include: Thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting patient care areas (occupied, discharge, and transfer), equipment, and common spaces. Applying healthcare cleaning and disinfection best practices while safely handling chemicals and equipment. Adhering strictly to all safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines, actively contributing to a culture of safety. Participating in performance improvement initiatives focused on patient experience and cleanliness. Meticulously managing supplies, equipment, and waste disposal in line with infection prevention and safety protocols. Utilizing critical thinking and personal accountability to collaborate with the team on various facility tasks and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred
  • Can distinguish the differences between levels of disinfection and perform low and intermediate level disinfection.
  • Ability to explain orally or in writing the differences between levels of disinfection and perform intermediate level disinfection in areas where required.
  • Ability to operate necessary equipment/machines.
  • Effectively uses computers and mobile devices.
  • Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others.
  • Communicates orally or in writing openly and candidly, creates an environment where co-workers and team members reciprocate in kind.
