About The Position

The position is for a full-time Environmental Services staff member at Advocate Christ Medical Center. The role involves cleaning and disinfecting various areas within the hospital, including patient rooms, offices, and common areas, using appropriate cleaning solutions and following established procedures. The work schedule includes evening shifts from 5 PM to 1:30 AM, with specific days off alternating between weeks. The pay range for this position is between $18.50 and $27.75 per hour.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to operate small electrical equipment such as vacuum cleaners.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using appropriate cleaning solutions and procedures.
  • Operate various cleaning equipment following department procedures.
  • Maintain work areas in an orderly, clean, and safe condition.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and exceed expectations.
  • Utilize AIDET with both internal and external customers.
  • Identify and resolve interpersonal conflicts constructively.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and departmental information.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize rooms after patient discharges.
  • Replenish supplies and collect waste from assigned areas.
  • Follow Standard Precautions and Infection Control Policies.
  • Prepare cleaning solutions according to established formulas.
  • Move equipment and furniture for cleaning and rearrangement.
  • Collect and distribute soiled and clean linens as required.
  • Attend mandatory departmental and hospital meetings.
  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality.
