About The Position

Performs duties requiring heavy physical demands and operates electrical and/or battery operated equipment. Strips and refinishes floor’s and cleans carpet. Handles and transports a large volume of bags of soiled laundry and trash. Moves furniture, boxes and equipment. Responsible for maintaining the hospital in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition which support department goals and strategic plan.

Requirements

• For employees designated to drive hospital vehicles or personal vehicles of hospital patrons, possession of a current valid driver’s license in the state of employee’s residence with no evidence of unsafe driving is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs cleaning of areas assigned in order to provide high quality as required by JC and State Board of Health.
• Communicates with patients, family and staff to exceed their expectations.
• Operates equipment safely and efficiently in order to maintain high quality throughout the facility.
• Transports and handles large carts of trash/linen in order to efficiently maintain production.
• Contributes to a high performance work environment by attending meetings and training sessions as scheuduled.
• Works to maintain a safe work environment for patients , visitors and staff.
• Other duties or special projects as assigned.
