As an intern, you will collaborate with our energy manager and various teams to drive sustainability initiatives and make a difference in Yosemite. While the position is remote, regular site visits will be required to support projects and programs, providing you with hands-on experience in the field.

Requirements

  • Candidates actively pursuing a master’s degree in any field of study. A major in mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering is preferred. Please keep in mind that educational requirements may change depending on the responsibilities of the role.
  • Candidates willing to work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends or holidays
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Support data collection and monitoring efforts, including utility consumption, through ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, EnergyCAP, and similar monitoring systems.
  • Partner with the energy manager and data management team to help identify energy conservation measures and opportunities.
  • Support the design, installation, and overall project management of electrical and water submeters across the YH properties in the park.
  • Drive conservation practices through education initiatives targeted at both YH staff and guests.
  • Collaborate with the energy manager to support a variety of energy efficiency projects, including infrastructure and mechanical equipment improvements.
  • Gain experience in project management, vendor management, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Contribute to the BAS control logic design and Sequence of Operations.
  • Support green energy projects, including decarbonization and electrification
