Requirements

  • BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience conducting environmental investigation, remediation, MCP compliance
  • Familiarity with GPS field instruments and processes
  • Ability to record and reduce field notes
  • Excellent time management, and ability to manage multiple assignments
  • Proficient in the use of current technology (i.e., tablets, smart phones, laptops, etc.)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong technical aptitude and an eagerness to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Must be able to lift/move objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and/or snow)
  • Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Carry out Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments
  • Work directly on investigation and remediation projects under the Massachusetts Contingency Plan and Rhode Island Remediation Regulations
  • Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor samples at active project sites
  • Assist with GIS mapping, data management, and preparation of figures for reports and regulatory submittals
  • Aid with wetlands delineations, including field data collection and documentation
  • Learn from Licensed Site Professionals (LSPs) with site investigations, regulatory coordination, and remediation activities
  • Support drilling and remediation activities alongside experienced scientists and engineers
  • Help turn field data into clear, meaningful technical reports and regulatory submittals
  • Learn how projects move from investigation through cleanup and closure
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and senior environmental professionals
  • Build a strong foundation in environmental regulations, compliance, and consulting best practices
  • Take on additional responsibilities as opportunities arise
