Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study or relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulations and requirements
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or other software
  • DexSys Orientation, ISO 14001, Hazardous Waste Management, HAZMAT/DOT, Storm Water Certified Operator, and other applicable environmental training courses

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum five years environmental experience, preferably in a Painting facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities directly related to creating a safe working environment at DexSys.
  • Respond to Agency (EPA, EGLE, etc.) correspondences and requests in a professional, respectful and expeditious manner.
  • Manage environmental activities through strong leadership, communication, motivation and direction of employees.
  • Understand, support, implement, and enforce compliance to all company and regulatory environmental policies.
  • Actively prevent pollution/reduce waste to support the attainment of established sustainability goals.
  • Maintain an understanding and instruct employees on how their specific job can affect the environment or the health and safety of themselves or others.
  • Support energy monitoring and savings initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local agencies and serve as a liaison with agency representatives.
  • Prepare and submit environmental reporting according to applicable environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate recycling efforts of all recyclable scrap at DexSys.
  • Support the ISO 14001 environmental management system.
