Overview The Logistics & Storage Environmental, Safety, Security and Product Quality (L&S ESS&PQ) department is looking for a skilled and motivated professional to join the Enterprise Permitting team. This position works closely with the L&S Engineering (L&SE) group to oversee permits mainly for maintenance and construction projects involving pipelines and terminals. Key duties include evaluating project sites for Threatened and Endangered (T&E) species and coordinating with regulatory bodies like the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). As a technical leader, the person in this role will ensure that all L&S projects are completed on time and comply fully with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical track (Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc.) preferred & 5 years of relevant work experience
  • High School diploma with 10 years of relevant work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical track (Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc.) preferred & 7 years of relevant work experience with conducting USACE permitting reviews and executing projects with potential T&E species impacts.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets local, state, and federal environmental regulations, and establishes procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant requirements.
  • Partners with L&SE on engineering designs, conducting reviews to minimize environmental impacts at project sites while optimizing cost efficiency.
  • Coordinates with USACE, United States Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS), state agencies, and other pertinent environmental authorities to facilitate the timely and accurate processing of permits.
  • Organizes and supports the execution of required surveys, including threatened and endangered species assessments for mussels, bats, fish, and additional listed species.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive environmental information and training programs to ensure that all project-related environmental components comply with regulatory and permit obligations.
  • Collaborates with external agencies and internal teams during construction to monitor and enforce permit requirements.
  • Maintains compliance records for sites subject to annual monitoring.
  • Ensures timely closure of permits with local, state, and federal regulators.
  • Stays current on changes in federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulatory actions, and technological advancements, communicating essential updates to leadership.
  • Represents the organization at industry associations such as the American Petroleum Institute (API) Endangered Species Act (ESA) workgroup, as needed.
