The Environmental Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the environmental compliance and sustainability of our manufacturing operations. This position supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental systems and programs, with a focus on wastewater treatment, calibration, and regulatory adherence. You will collaborate across departments to promote a proactive environmental culture and drive measurable improvements in environmental performance.

  • Implement and maintain environmental management systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee wastewater treatment operations, ensuring systems meet environmental standards and permit requirements.
  • Manage calibration of environmental monitoring equipment and control instrumentation for accurate data collection.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training programs to promote awareness and compliance.
  • Respond to environmental incidents, lead investigations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Track and report key environmental metrics, including energy usage, waste reduction, and water conservation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into daily operations and long-term planning.
  • Support ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical guidance on environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Stay current on regulatory developments and industry trends to ensure proactive compliance.
  • Promote employee engagement in environmental initiatives through training and communication.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and environmental response efforts.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Chemistry, EHS, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental management within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Hands-on experience with wastewater treatment systems and calibration of control instrumentation.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and environmental data systems.
  • Commitment to promoting a safe, sustainable, and compliant workplace.
  • Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or equivalent certification preferred.
