About The Position

The Environmental Site Manager is responsible for overseeing daily field operations related to environmental remediation, transportation, and waste management projects. This role ensures that all environmental field work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The Site Manager provides direct supervision to Environmental CDL Drivers, Operators, and Swampers, coordinates job site logistics, and serves as the on-site point of contact between field crews, clients, and project management.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in environmental remediation, oil & gas, or field operations; prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of DOT, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable environmental regulations.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
  • Proficient in site safety protocols, waste transport documentation, and field reporting procedures.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment or direct operations safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily environmental field activities, including excavation, transportation, and disposal operations.
  • Conduct pre-job briefings, assign crew tasks, and ensure job completion in accordance with project scope and safety requirements.
  • Verify that all materials are handled, transported, and disposed of according to DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
  • Monitor field performance to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to company and client expectations.
  • Inspect job sites regularly to assess conditions, identify potential hazards, and ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Provide direction, training, and performance feedback to Environmental CDL Drivers and Swampers.
  • Oversee timekeeping, scheduling, and crew assignments to ensure adequate coverage and productivity.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and safety among all field employees.
  • Act as the primary field liaison between team members, project management, and clients.
  • Enforce compliance with all company safety policies, site-specific safety plans, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and incident reporting as required.
  • Ensure all vehicles, equipment, and PPE are properly inspected and maintained.
  • Report environmental spills, incidents, or noncompliance immediately and assist in corrective actions.
  • Assist the Environmental Operations Manager in project planning, logistics, and resource allocation.
  • Track and document job progress, materials movement, and labor hours for reporting and invoicing accuracy.
  • Maintain open communication with clients, providing daily updates and resolving on-site issues.
  • Support the preparation of project documentation, manifests, and reports as needed.
  • Conduct on-site soil screening activities to identify potential contamination and ensure materials are properly characterized in accordance with project requirements and regulatory standards.
