Requirements

• Entry-level maintenance and customer service experience at a solid waste facility (Environmental Services Worker I).
• Advanced maintenance and customer service experience at a solid waste facility (Environmental Services Worker II).
• Ability to perform routine inspections and general site maintenance.
• Knowledge of waste disposal policies and procedures.
• Ability to collect fees and maintain accurate records.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in waste management or environmental services.
• Leadership experience in coordinating staff operations.

Responsibilities

• Attend and monitor County solid waste facilities.
• Perform routine inspections of the facility and complete general site clean-up and maintenance.
• Screen mixed solid waste and recyclables.
• Explain waste disposal policies and procedures to the public.
• Direct the public to appropriate disposal areas.
• Collect fees and record daily transactions and waste material quantities.
• Perform waste materials handling and disposal in accordance with prescribed waste management regulations.
• Monitor operations of independent solid waste contractors (Environmental Services Worker II).
• Lead and coordinate the work of assigned staff (Environmental Services Worker II).
• Maintain site operating records (Environmental Services Worker II).
