About The Position

The Environmental Services Worker is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across various facilities at Prince George's Community College. This full-time position involves detailed cleaning tasks in accordance with the Association of Physical Plant Administrators (APPA) standards, ensuring that all areas, including restrooms, classrooms, and common spaces, are kept to high standards of hygiene and appearance. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work with various cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• At least six months of work experience in housekeeping, custodial, or environmental maintenance field.
• Knowledge and ability to use Office 365 for the Web is a plus.
• Proven experience using custodial equipment and cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and perform all required functions of the position.

Responsibilities

• Dusts, cleans, and treats all office, classroom, and other furniture and apparatus.
• Maintains appropriate room arrangements for required use and empties trash and recycle receptacles daily.
• Sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, seals, finishes, and buffs floors as required to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Identifies stains for removal and informs the supervisor if stains cannot be safely removed during the shift.
• Cleans and treats walls, baseboards, windows, blinds, and other campus equipment to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Performs cleaning and sanitizing services before and after classes in various rooms.
• Serves as a Campus Security Authority by complying with the Clery Act and reporting crime-related information.
