About The Position

This position is responsible for performing general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition and to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. The role is part-time, 30 hours per week, on day shifts, including rotating weekends and assigned holidays. The technician will work in all areas of Layton Hospital and is expected to be a reliable, punctual, hardworking, flexible, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude, willing to pick up extra hours. This is a very physical job requiring constant standing/walking for 8 hours, bending, getting up and down easily, good hand dexterity, ability to bend and lift loads, good vision, and attention to detail. Requirements

  • Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
  • Reliable, dependable, team player, punctual, hardworking, flexible, self-motivated, brings a positive attitude to every shift
  • Willing to pick up extra hours
  • Expected to stand/walk for 8 hours constantly
  • Able to bend and get down and up easily
  • Good hand dexterity and able to bend and lift loads
  • Good vision and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain the facility and associated buildings in a sanitary, safe, and attractive condition
  • Meet hospital and Joint Commission standards
  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
  • Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
  • Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
  • Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint commission, and OSHA standards
  • Follow all infection prevention practices (i.e. proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard & isolation precautions, as well as proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE))
  • Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
