About The Position

Now hiring an Environmental Services Technician to join a growing business in Windsor. This company is seeking dependable team members to join their expanding crew, and offers excellent daytime hours, competitive pay, and the opportunity to develop specialized skills in an essential industry. The Environmental Services Technician will perform a range of maintenance, cleaning, and repair services for residential, commercial, and municipal clients. Employee will travel to local job sites and assist with scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, and infrastructure projects. Daily work may include sewer and drain cleaning, septic pumping, stormwater system maintenance, hydro excavation, trenchless pipe repair, and industrial facility clean-ups. Ideal candidate will have a Maine Class-B CDL or ability to attain this license, and at least 1-2 years of professional experience in plumbing, wastewater maintenance, and/or construction services.

Requirements

  • Non-commercial driver's license with good driving record, Class B CDL strongly preferred.
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in plumbing, wastewater maintenance, or construction.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of environments and weather conditions.
  • Willing to respond to emergency service requests while on call.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and drive company-owned vehicles to local job sites.
  • Excavate debris from culverts, catch basins and drainage channels.
  • Use high-pressure hoses, industrial vacuums and other specialized equipment to flush and remove blockages.
  • Use specialized equipment to line, burst, or insert new pipe.
  • Use shovels, payloaders, and other motorized equipment and hand tools to install or access in-ground utilities.
  • Raise or reset manholes and valve covers.
  • Remove clogs, grease, roots, and buildup from drainage and septic lines.
  • Install and repair septic systems and leach fields.
  • Inspect and pump septic tanks.
  • Clean tanks, pits, and machinery for industrial facilities.
  • Inform customers on proper care and maintenance requirements for septic systems and related utilities.
  • Complete routine maintenance and cleaning on company equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Perform other relevant tasks as required.
