About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing specialized cleaning, sanitation, and infection control duties to maintain a safe, hygienic, and orderly environment for patients, staff, and visitors throughout the hospital. This role is essential for supporting patient safety and overall hospital operations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Familiarity with operating room cleaning protocols and equipment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with staff and patients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Wet mops and disinfects floors in patient care and operating room areas.
  • Cleans and disinfects walls, furniture, floors, and operating room equipment.
  • Cleans all horizontal and vertical surfaces as needed.
  • Moves contaminated mattresses and cleans underneath; moves operating room tables and cleans underneath.
  • Collects and disposes of trash, dirty linens, and medical waste in accordance with hospital protocols.
  • Maintains housekeeping equipment and utility closets in an orderly and clean manner.
  • Restocks supplies needed for the operating room.
  • Cleans and services operating room hallways.
  • Adheres to hospital infection control policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
